Kenneth H. Stanley

While recently becoming President and CEO of TRI-MONT Engineering Co. Ken leads the firm in its services in the field of energy development. Development efforts involve providing engineering consulting services to clients in the field of alternative/biomass fuel supply, bulk fuel storage, power generation, steam generation, and natural gas infrastructure development.

Ken has over 28-years of engineering consulting experience. Prior to joining TRI-MONT Engineering Co., Co. Ken served in the capacity of Board Member, Principal and Vice President, of a medium to large engineering firm whose duties included the oversight of a 75-125 person energy Infrastructure engineering consulting group. This group supported the natural gas, oil, products and electric transmission and distribution and the power generation industry. This support involved providing Civil, Survey, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering services as well as Project Management, Construction Management, Design/Build and Operations and Maintenance services. Ken represented this company with major utility transmission, distribution and power generation clientele. He managed over $120-million in engineering services, in excess of 60% of the firm’s revenue generation. Ken also led the firm’s growth nationally with offices in Denver, Co; Houston, TX; Fairmont, WV; Dayton, OH; Bedford, NH; Portland, ME; Waltham & Plymouth, MA. In addition, the energy infrastructure group performed work in 32-states in the US and projects in Peru and Canada.

Prior to entering the civilian arena, Ken served as an active duty member of the United States Air Force Combat Control Team, Special Forces/Special Ops. His military responsibilities included the operation of portable tactical navigational aids; GPS positioning; the airfield management of tactical short field landing zones, drop zones and extraction zones as well as the responsibilities of a multi-positional Air Traffic Control Operator, located in the USA and Central America.

Mike Swail, P.E.

Michael Swail is currently the Chief Engineer at TRI-MONT Engineering Co. Mike has 12 years of engineering experience in the power generation, bulk fuel and automotive transducer industries, with 9 years of experience in power generation focused on engineering analysis and design for industry and utilities projects. Mike has performed analyses of heat balance, fluid and gas flow and pipe stress while his design work includes piping systems and their support structures.  Mr. Swail’s experience includes new plant development and the addition, upgrade and replacement of equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines, chillers and boilers at existing plants. Performance of fluid and gas flow analyses for projects including district steam distribution systems, refinery steam distribution systems, LNG terminal piping, asphalt tank farm hot oil piping and power plant piping are also prominent in his skill set. Mike has also been involved with design projects including both underground steam and condensate piping, new above grade asphalt, oil and LNG piping, new submarine LNG piping, repair and replacement of existing underground steam and condensate piping and the upgrade of feed water piping.  Mike holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western New England College and a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.  He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, States of Maine, New Hampshire, Texas, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Indiana, Connecticut, New York, and Ohio. He also maintains an NCEES Record.

Brian Sullivan

Brian Sullivan is a Senior Project Manager at TRI-MONT Engineering, Co. Mr. Sullivan has 23 years of professional experience in management and engineering. Brian’s career spans Engineering Management, Facility Management, Water Distribution System Analysis, Design, Bidding, and Construction Services, as well as Telecommunications. As a Business and Project Manager of a construction company Mr. Sullivan was responsible for over $ 10,000,000 in annual contracts. Brian’s career also includes 7 years of military service as an Army Engineer Officer.

Mr. Sullivan began his military career as a Distinguished Military Graduate assigned to Fort Leonard Wood, MO as a Company Executive Officer in a Basic Training Company, subsequently being assigned to the Battalion Staff as the Operations Office. Brian was next assigned to a Combat Engineer Company as a Platoon Leader for an Inland Petroleum Distribution System Company and later became the Battalion Adjunct for the same Battalion. Upon graduation from the Engineering Officer Advance course Mr. Sullivan was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany for 3 years as the Deputy Installation Coordinator for Kleber Kaserne. In this assignment Brian was responsible for installation level Force Projection, Physical Security, Base Maintenance, and Construction Planning. During this 3-year period he participated in the design, scheduling, and construction of projects ranging from barracks renovations to the construction of multi-million dollar support facilities.

Brian holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University, MS in Environmental Engineering from Northeastern University, as well as a MS in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri Rolla. Brian Sullivan is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers.

Cliff Schindel, CSP CEP

Cliff Schindel joined TRI-MONT Engineering Co. Management Team in 2013 and is leading our Midwest expansion. In his role, he holds a broad scope of responsibilities which include project management, HSE compliance, and managing our Midwest office.

Cliff is an environmental engineer bringing more than 13 years practical project management experience and 20 years of industry-tested environmental, health, and safety experience.

Cliff’s project experience leading, or assisting, in large-scale infrastructure developments that have included: oil/gas pipelines, electric transmission/distribution, other infrastructure, and site remediation. Leading projects with scopes of work that included civil, mechanical, survey, permitting, inspection, construction oversight, and commissioning/start-up and execution budgets in excess of $1MM. Other core management skills include budget development and tracking; multi-team coordination; schedule tracking; and action tracking.

As our lead in HSE compliance issues, Cliff has earned certifications from the BCSP as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and the ABCEP as a Certified Environmental Professional (CEP). Previously he was a certified 10/30 Hour OSHA Outreach Trainer. Cliff has significant experience with State/Federal EPA, OSHA, DHS, USCG and DOT regulations in multiple market sectors (e.g., construction, manufacturing) as well as developing site security plans.

Additionally Cliff is a US Veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard aboard three USCG cutters.

Meghan LaPlante

Currently, Meghan LaPlante is the Administration Manager at TRI-MONT Engineering Co. Working in a capacity to manage all internal administrative duties, including, but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Vendor Management, State Registrations, and Office Management.  Meghan has 15 years experience working in an administrative capacity for engineering companies. Five (2003-2008) years in a support capacity, and upon completion of her education, eight years (2008-2016)  in a Support/Management capacity.

Ms. LaPlante’s responsibilities have included administrative duties in the Energy Infrastructure industry, as well as Corporate Support. Ms. LaPlante’s responsibilities have included tracking  utilization, creating qualifications packages for existing and prospective clients, keeping up to date OSHA statistics and reporting. Ms. LaPlante works closely with Project Managers and Principals to assist in completing tasks when necessary and has much experience with interacting with engineers as well as a corporate team.

Ms. LaPlante has been the sole Administrative Personal to a small start up engineering company. In an administrative capacity her responsibilities included worked closely with the CEO and Project Managers on scheduling, monthly invoicing and account receivable outreach, registration of the company for Insurance and Certificates of Authorization for work in Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Maine, Vermont, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Working in a marketing capacity including having organized & hosted a networking open house displaying our services for 60+ people including working with a caterer and supply rental facility, as well as creating all marketing materials including brochures, logos, office artwork, and attending all trade shows and regional conferences.

Meghan LaPlante holds a BA in English from the University of New Hampshire, where she also co-managed the advertising and business side of the university newspaper, The New Hampshire from 2007-2008.
